⚖️ DMCA Copyright Policy
Last updated: February 2026
LyfeeHost respects intellectual property and complies with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and other applicable copyright law.
We are committed to protecting the rights of copyright owners, with a fast and transparent complaints process.
Fast track: if you find content that infringes your copyright, follow the process below to file a formal complaint. We commit to handling valid complaints within 24 hours.
1. What is the DMCA?
The DMCA is a United States copyright law that gives online service providers a "safe harbour", provided they respond promptly to infringement notices and remove infringing content.
As a content hosting platform we follow the DMCA: on receiving a valid notice we promptly remove or disable access to the infringing content.
2. Filing a complaint
⚠️ Important: under the DMCA, filing a false complaint can carry legal liability. Please make sure you are the copyright owner or their authorised agent.
If you believe your copyrighted work is being infringed, send an email containing the following to:
📧 DMCA complaints:dmca@lyfeehost.com
📋 A complaint must include
1️⃣ Your contact details
- Full name or company name
- Email address
- Phone number (optional)
- Postal address (optional)
2️⃣ A description of the infringed work
- Describe the original work you hold copyright in
- Provide a link to the original, or other proof (registration certificate, publication date)
3️⃣ Where the infringing content is
- The full URL of the infringing content, for example https://www.lyfeehost.com/p/abc123
- If there are several, list every link
4️⃣ Good-faith statement
"I have a good faith belief that use of the material described above is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law." "I swear that the information in this notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that I am the copyright owner or am authorised to act on the owner's behalf."
5️⃣ Electronic or handwritten signature
- Type your full name at the end of the email (an electronic signature is valid)
- Or attach a scan of your handwritten signature
💡 Tip: the more detail you give, the faster we can act. Screenshots and other evidence help.
3. How complaints are handled
- 1
📥 Complaint received
We acknowledge your email within one working hour.
- 2
🔍 Review
We check that the complaint contains everything required and verify the links.
- 3
🗑️ Removal
If the complaint is valid we remove or disable the content within 24 hours.
- 4
📧 Uploader notified
We tell the uploader their content was removed following a DMCA complaint, and explain the counter-notice process.
- 5
✅ Closed
We send you a confirmation email once the content has been removed.
⏱️ Expedited handling: for the most serious cases (child sexual abuse material, extreme violence) we remove content immediately rather than waiting 24 hours.
4. DMCA counter-notice
If your content was removed following a DMCA complaint and you believe that was a mistake (you own the copyright, or your use is lawful), you can file a DMCA counter-notice.
📋 A counter-notice must include
- Your contact details (name, email, address)
- A description of the removed content and its original URL
- A good-faith statement that you believe the removal was a mistake
- Consent to the jurisdiction of the court where the copyright owner is located
- Your electronic or handwritten signature
Send counter-notices to dmca@lyfeehost.com.
⚠️ Important: we forward your counter-notice to the complainant. If they do not file suit within 10–14 working days, we may restore your content.
5. Repeat infringers
As the DMCA requires, we have a zero-tolerance policy for repeat infringers.
🚨 Penalties
- First offence: infringing content removed, warning issued
- Second offence: account suspended for 7 days, all content removed
- Third offence: account permanently banned, re-registration barred
We keep a record of infringements.
6. False reports and abuse
⚠️ Warning: under DMCA 512(f), knowingly filing a false copyright complaint can carry legal liability including damages, legal fees and court costs.
We reserve the right to:
- Decline complaints that are clearly false or incomplete
- Bar users who abuse the DMCA process from filing complaints
- Disclose an abuser’s information to the injured party
- Assist the injured party in pursuing the abuser legally
Please use the DMCA process honestly and responsibly.
7. Other copyright questions
📸 Fair use
In some cases using someone else’s copyrighted work may be fair use (commentary, education, news reporting). If you believe your use is fair use, explain it in detail in your counter-notice.
🌍 Copyright law outside the United States
We follow the DMCA, but we also respect copyright law elsewhere. If your country has an equivalent mechanism, say so in your complaint.
🎭 Trademarks and other IP
The DMCA covers copyright only. For trademark, patent or other intellectual property complaints, write to legal@lyfeehost.com.
